GENESIS Matrix™ A revolutionary view of health

Making sense of all the data for meaningful results.

The GENESIS Matrix™

A Whole Person Model

Our bodies and genes are interconnected on every level, and our genes are at the core of who we are. What impacts one system can impact the others, and with so much data and variables at play, how can we use all the knowledge to improve your health?

The GENESIS Matrix™ is our shining star with a framework and algorithm that combines all the pieces together. Using the GENESIS Matrix™ and integrating its seven variables will help your clinician understand the root causes of your health issues. With this model and the roadmap it reveals, you have all the potential in the world to create truly personalized strategies so you can optimize your health completely.

The Seven Elements of our GENESIS MatrixTM

Genes

Genes are specific sections within our DNA and we each have about 20,000 of them. They provide the blueprint for making proteins—the workhorses in our bodies. Proteins carry out all the daily activities we need to survive. These genes interact with our environment and respond to cues to create and maintain our health. When that process is affected by small changes called SNPs, the road to optimum health can be compromised or challenged.

Environment

The environment is full of cues for our genes: light, temperature, pollution, chemicals in cleaning solutions and cosmetics, loud sounds or music, pesticides, water quality, and even your exercise routine. We also have our internal environments to think about. This includes the chemicals our bodies produce as part of its normal daily functions. Both our internal and external environments can greatly impact our genes and affect how they function.

Nutrition

Our genes orchestrate how we process food including vitamins, minerals, fats and sugars. They “listen” to the dietary information in a meal, which either promotes health and longevity or contributes to illness and disease. Knowing more about our DNA helps us pinpoint the best food choices to keep our biological systems in the best shape possible. Choosing foods that support our genes can prevent chronic diseases that may develop over time.

Emotions

Our emotions stem from how we respond to internal and external cues. They govern our relationships with ourselves and others. How we feel has a powerful effect on our health and even our genes. Recognizing how we feel, and how this may be impacted by our genes, makes it easier to accept who we are from the inside out.

Stress

Stress is one of the most common elements in our lives today. Stress itself is not always a negative trait since stress can help us change and grow both physically and emotionally. It’s the amount of stress we experience, and how we respond to it, that can contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle. Genes can play a role in how we respond to the many stressors we encounter day-to-day, and knowing this can help us choose the best strategies to manage them.

Inflammation

Our immune system is designed to protect us from viruses and bacteria, and to help us heal from injuries. When there is no active threat, our immune system sits back in surveillance mode since it’s not designed to be “on” all the time. But when the system doesn’t get the proper message to turn on when an invader is detected, or to turn off when the threat is over, it can lead to chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Genes play an important role in how well the immune system functions and maintains the delicate balance needed for us to stay healthy.

Spirituality

This is all about belief systems, both conscious and unconscious, that we gain throughout our lives. These beliefs shape our thoughts about how we fit into the world, our roles and behaviors, and what we believe in about ourselves and others. Uncovering and working with these belief systems can help manage stress, improve relationships with yourself and others, and understand the challenges to overcome in order to achieve your health and life goals.

It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able to adapt to and to adjust best to the changing environment in which it finds itself.

—Charles Darwin, Origin of Species
